BAT TESTING PROCEDURE

Bat Testing is coordinated by your first scheduled practice or your first game. A schedule will soon be uploaded to Event Connect and will be available to see on THE Spring Games Website (under schedule for your Division) and available on THE Spring Games-Event Connect App. (*be sure to download the correct APP “THE Spring Games-Event Connect'' to access the schedule from your mobile device).

Location of the Bat Compression Testing will be under a tent located at the front entrance or inside the complex. Testing will NOT occur at every complex every day, please note your Bat Compression Test Location/Complex & Specified Time on the schedule.

Testing with THE Spring Games:

  • Please be on time to your scheduled bat test time.

  • Complete two (2) annotated, current NCAA Approved Softball Bat lists- with your selected bats highlighted and total number of each bat model indicated clearly on the sheet near the bat models.

    • Please note, if you have a JV team, an NCAA Bat List will need to be completed fully in the case that your varsity and JV team are playing at the same time and/or at a different site.

  • Arrange the bats in the order in which they appear on the list for testing.

  • Bats that pass compression testing will receive TSG’s distinctive stickers that will be valid for the entire 2022 Spring Games.

    • Those that FAIL or that are removed by an umpire during the game for any reason will be confiscated by the Complex Site Supervisor and will be retained and stored safely for the remainder of the event. The bat(s) removed will be delivered to the complex of your last day of games.  It will be your responsibility to find the Site Supervisor of that Complex to pick up your team bats prior to your departure.  *If they are not picked up within 48 hours after your last day of games, the bat will be forfeited and will be donated to a local non profit.

If you are being tested by Dee Abrahamson: she has specified protocols per the NCAA.

  • Please be on time to your scheduled bat test time.

  • Complete two (2) annotated, current NCAA Approved Softball Bat lists- with your selected bats highlighted and total number of each bat model indicated clearly on the sheet near the bat models.

    • Please note, Dee will keep one (1) of the Completed NCAA Approved Bat Lists for her records.

      • If you have a JV team, I would suggest having an additional NCAA Approved Bat List so that it can be completed fully in the case that your varsity and JV team are playing at the same time and/or at a different site.

  • Arrange the bats in the order in which they appear on the list for testing.

  • Bats that pass compression testing will receive TSG’s distinctive stickers that will be valid for the entire 2022 Spring Games.

    • Those that FAIL will be retained for further study. Please communicate with DEE on how you will be able to receive your failed bat(s).

    • Bats that are removed by an umpire during the game for any reason will be confiscated by the Complex Site Supervisor and will be retained and stored safely for the remainder of the event.
