UMPIRES

THE Spring Games is the World's largest collegiate softball event. We have hosted over 1,500 games per year since 2014. THE Spring Games provides umpires the opportunity to prepare for conference season, allowing up to three (3) games per day over 30 days of contests. Umpires participating in THE Spring Games are expected to perform their duties with professionalism and to strive to improve each season. Familiarity with the Division Rules and physical condition sufficient to execute the responsibilities of a game official are minimum standards. In order to officiate NCAA games, umpires must have completed the NCAA Softball Rules & Mechanics Test in the last two (2) years.

Umpires will be evaluated (as much as possible) prior to acceptance as an official and during the event by the UICs, fellow umpires, and coaches. The objective of THE Spring Games umpire program is to encourage more umpires to join the ranks of collegiate softball and to provide a platform for them to gain valuable experience.
